Project Overview

This build took place around the first covid lock down. This site was an untouched hill side that was very steep so we constructed a 50 metre driveway and bridge capable of holding a 28 tonne concrete truck before we could start construction of the house.

Common Architecture designed this home to blend remarkably with its setting often turning heads from pedestrians passing by.

The construction was steel portals with a timber floor and half concrete slab over a concrete block retaining wall. Wall framing was 140mm framing with wool insulation and a 45mm service cavity to allow the house to breathe. We clad this with cedar and recycled Rimu was used on the floor and ceilings.

Another cool project to complete and a real pleasure working with such a nice client.
